What is Nuevos Horizontes?
Nuevos Horizontes is a Spanish-language radio program and educational outreach initiative that is supported by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The objective of Nuevos Horizontes is to provide critical information and educational orientation to the Latino immigrants residing in the United States, as well as to those audiences interested in learning more about emerging Latino issues and/or wishing to improve their Spanish language listening skills.
An informative tool
Nuevos Horizontes provides interviews on current topics of interest as well as informative sections related to health and Latino culture. Additionally, Nuevos Horizontes seeks to improve the quality of life of Latino community by engaging in a variety of different outreach activities that address essential needs for this community. An educational tool
Nuevos Horizontes is an excellent tool to build and improve listening skills, not only because of its content but the students will hear native speakers with variety of Spanish accents from Latin America. Nuevos Horizontes can be used by any Spanish class or for self listening. Read testimonies.
